ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced its weekly award winners for the week ending Sept. 7, and Nova Southeastern's Genesis Hernandez earned recognition as the SSC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Hernandez played a key role in the Sharks' offensive success, scoring the game-tying goal in NSU's 2-2 draw against Flagler before recording a two-goal performance in a 3-1 victory over Texas A&M International.
Against Texas A&M International, Hernandez scored the insurance goal in the 90th minute to seal the win. She finished the week with 11 shots on goal and three total goals across the two matches.
With her standout performances, Hernandez moved into the top 10 in Nova Southeastern women's soccer history with 24 career goals.
