Biography
As an NSU Women's Swimmer:
AS A JUNIOR (2000-11)
Placed 13th in the 200-yard back with a time of 2:11.26 and was a member of the 11th-place 400- free relay team the All-Florida Invitational (10/3/10)…Picked up wins in the 400- medley relay and 200- back, as well as a second in the 200- free at NSU’s first home meet, a win over Florida Southern (10/16/10)…Picked up second-place finishes in the 100- and 200- back against Tampa with times of 1:02.28 and 2:14.94, respectively (10/23/10)…Finished with her season-to-date-best time of 1:59.73 in the women’s 200-yard free for third-place against FAU (10/29/10)…Grabbed wins in the 200- medley relay and also 100- back with a season-to-date best time of 1:01.61 (11/6/10) …Captured wins in the 400- medley (4:09.51), 200- free (2:01.20) and 200- back (2:14.28) against Saint Leo (1/22/11)…Set a school record with a time of 2:04.53 in the 200- back, finishing second at the SSC Championship (2/20/11).
PREVIOUS SCHOOL
Swam at the University of New Orleans for two years… While there she helped lead her team to the Sunbelt Conference finals by posting her career best times in the 200y freestyle, 100y and 200y backstroke… She was honored with the National Academic Achievement Award for have two semesters on the Dean’s List.
HIGH SCHOOL
She swam for four years at Mount Carmel Academy where she was a three time state champion and a Metro All-American her senior year… She led her team to the state title her senior season by breaking a minute in the 100y backstroke to take first place in the event.
CLUB EXPERIENCE
Competed on the Crescent City Swim Club for nine years… Helped lead her team to a state title every year for both the short and long courses… In 2005 she was the individual winner of the 200y freestyle race at the Louisiana State meet... In 2007 she anchored the relay team to break the state’s current record and in 2008 she was the individual winner for both the 50y and 100y freestyle long course events at the Louisiana State meet.
PERSONAL
Business administration and athletic training double major… Born in New Orleans, LA., she lists her favorite professional sports team as the New Orleans Saints… Her favorite food is listed as frozen yogurt and some of her hobbies include photography and shopping… Lists Ashton Kutcher as her favorite actor and Michael Jackson as her favorite historical person… Daughter of Nicholas Aranda, Jr. and Indred Rogers… Has four siblings in Chris, Kristina, Amanda and Katie.
