AS A JUNIOR (2012-13)
Honored as an All-American in the 800-yard freestyle relay; also received Honorable mention All-American in the 400-yard medley relay, 200-yard freestyle relay and 200-yard medley relay...At the SSC championships was part of the record-setting 800-yard freestyle relay witha time of 6:37.02, the only relay win for the Sharks...Individually, at the championships, he finished fifth in both the 500-yard freestyle (4:34.37) and the 400-yard IM (4:03.14), and seventh in the 200-yard butterfly (1:54.12)....At the All-Florida meet he came in 10th in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:12.80 and 12th in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:59.94...At the Shark Invitational, placed ninth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:39.09, sixth in the 400-IM with a time of 4:07.34 and eighth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.51.

AS A SOPHMORE (2011-12) 
In the 200- yard individual medley Hayes finished third, reaching at 2:04.47 at Saint Leo(10/15/2011)…Swimming against Indian River & Florida International University (11/12/2011) he  finished  third, at 1:58.82 in the 200-yard butterfly… In the 200-fly he finished with a time of 1:52.57 for fifth place at the SSC Championships (2/15-18/2012) and recorded another personal best in the 200-IM with a time of 1:54.63.

AS A FRESHMAN (2010-11)
At the All-Florida Invite as a team the Sharks were strong in the men’s 200-yard fly, where  Hayes contributed to that effort with a ninth-place finish (1:59.10)(10/1/10)…Against Florida Atlantic he finished seventh (2:02.69) in the 200-yard IM (20/29/10)…Picked up his first win of the season finishing with a time of 2:03 against Rollins (11/6/10)…At the SSC conference in 200-fly and 400-IM.

HIGH SCHOOL
Swam for four years at Bishop Kenny Catholic High School… His senior season posted a 1:56.1 in the 200y individual medley, 1:54.3 200y butterfly, 4:44 in the 500y freestyle, 2:08 in the 200y breaststroke and a 4:07 in the 400y individual medley… He was served of captain of his team and was named Most Valuable Player for two consecutive years… All First-Coast Team honoree for two years, named Georgia All-State Swimmer and was a state finalist for four years… He also competed in cross country and track for two years.

PERSONAL
A sports management major… Lists his favorite foods as bacon,cheicken, wings… Betty White is his favorite actor and Ryan Lochte is listed as his favorite professional athlete… A hobby of his is writing short stories about love... and his favorite animal is a penguin… Son of Robert and Holly Hayes… Has four siblings, Robby, Katie, Partick and Grace.
