Biography
AS A JUNIOR (2012)
Was one of the six runners who competed in all three stages of the postseason, helping the women’s program advance as a team to nationals for the first time in program history…Ran a sub-24 minute 6K in all three postseason races…Finished in 13th place with a time of 23:52 at the Sunshine State Conference Championship, the second best time on her team… Finished nationals with a crossing time of 22.43.40, a personal best 6K time and the sixth best mark in program history.
AS A SOPHMORE (2011)
Finished 14th at the Early Bird Invitational (9/2/11)…Finished 18th in the 6k event, with a personal best time of 19:24.40, at the Walt Disney World Classic (10/8/2011).
AS A FRESHMAN (2010)
Recieved All-South Region honors after placing in the top-15 at regionals... Ran a personal best time of 22:51 in the 6K at the SSC Championship, a time that ranked third at NSU all-time heading into the 2011 season...Ran a personal best 19:02 at the Miami Elite Invitational, a time that ranked sixth in NSU history entering the 2011 season...By season's end, she had six seperate times logged into the NSU all-time top-20 for the 5K and 6K.
CAREER
Ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track for four years at Ocean Lakes High School… During her senior season she qualified for the state meet in cross country and for track in the mile, two mile and 4x8 relay… Ran a 18:57 5K, a 5:21 mile, a 11:26 two mile, a 2:25 in the 800 meter open and a 7:32 steeple chase 2K… For her senior season she was name as the Most Valuable Runner and received All-District and All-Region honors.
PERSONAL
Marine biology major… Lists favorite food as a bean burrito from Taco Bell… Also lists Dogs 101 as her favorite television show and Steve Prefontaine as her favorite professional athlete…. Her hobbies include painting and making jewelry… Daughter of Mark and Andrea Bowman… Has two siblings, Lindsey and Alison.
