Biography
AS A JUNIOR (2013)
Bowman was an All-Region honoree for her performances at the Peach Belt Conference championships...Bowman received PBC Co-Women’s Athlete of the Year with teammate, Jessica Osteen...At the PBC, Bowman became the first NSU conference champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 11:11.69...Bowman took third in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18.21.10...Bowman took fourth place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:57.31...Bowman competed at the Georgia Tech Invitational and came in sixth place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:09.00, her season-best time...She was selected for the PBC All-Academic team.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2012)
For the first meet of the season, came in first place in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, also being her third race of the day, with a time of 11:18.13 at the UNF Spring Break Invite (3/2)… Swept up two consecutive second place victories in the 3,000m steeplechase at the UM Hurricane Invite, and the FSU Relays (3/16 &3/21)…Ran her overall personal best for the 3,000m steeplechase at the Florida Relays with a time of 11:03.28 (4/6)…At the, University of Miami meet in the 1,500 run, clocked a 4:53.11, her best time for this season. Also won her third second place spot in the 3,000m run (4/14)
AS A FRESHMAN (2011)
At the ERAU placed second in the 4x800m relay (2/19)… Ran a program record of 4:52.46 in the 1,500m at the FAU Invitational (3/12)…Breaks school record set in 2009 at the Miami Invitational in the 5,000m run with a time of 18:31.91, getting sixth place (3/19)...Gets thirteenth place in 3,000m steeplechase against Division I runners at the Florida Relays with best time of the season being 11:25.83 minutes (4/3)…In the South Regionals race, places second in the 5,000m race (4/24)…Receives All-Region award recognition in the 3k steeplechase.
HIGH SCHOOL
Ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track for four years at Ocean Lakes High School...During her senior season she qualified for the state meet in cross country and for track in the mile, two mile and 4x8 relay…Ran a 18:57 5K, a 5:21 mile, a 11:26 two mile, a 2:25 in the 800 meter open and a 7:32 steeple chase 2K…For her senior season she was name as the Most Valuable Runner and received All-District and All-Region honors.
PERSONAL
Marine biology major…Lists favorite food as a bean burrito from Taco Bell…Also lists Dogs 101 as her favorite television show and Steve Prefontaine as her favorite professional athlete….Her hobbies include painting and making jewelry…Daughter of Mark and Andrea Bowman…Has two siblings, Lindsey and Alison.
