SUMMER 2015
Loret de Mola made seven starts and six relief appearances to help the Border Cats finish fifth overall in the Northwoods League's North Division. His best game came on June 27th, when he threw a complete game shutout in a 3-0 victory over Waterloo to earn the league's Pitcher of the Night award, allowing just five hits and two walks, while striking out five batters. Loret de Mola finished 4-4 with 28 strikeouts in 49 innings.
AS A SENIOR (2015)
Used the season to redshirt.
AS A JUNIOR (2014)
Made 11 appearances, 10 of which were starts as the Sharks second pitcher in the rotation...Finished with a 6-3 record, tied for most wins on the team...Struck out 39 batters in 56 innings pitched and finished with a 3.86 ERA...Had a season-high seven strikeouts in three different games, all resulting in Shark wins...Didn't allow a hit and struck out seven in six innings on the mound, in a 10-4 win on the road against Benedict (2/22)...Allowed just one earned run and struck out seven in the Sharks lone win against Eckerd College (3/8).
AS A SOPHOMORE (2013)
Dual threat for the Sharks, starting 18 games as a position player (14 as DH, 3 at 1B, 1 at 3B), and appearing in 14 games on the mound, the last two coming as a starting pitcher…Hit .266 with five doubles, two triples, two home runs and 17 RBI, slugging an even .500…His first home run came as part of a 4-RBI outing at Columbus State (2/2)…Also had two stolen bases in that game…Notched another homer, a two-run shot, against Albany State (2/9)…Had back-to-back games with three RBI, vs. Caldwell College (3/10) and St. Thomas Aquinas (3/12)…On the mound, had a team-low 1.74 ERA…Appeared out of the bullpen his first 12 appearances, and had a 1.86 ERA, going 9 2/3 innings, only allowing two earned runs while striking out 12…Joined the rotation for the final two series of the year, and was even better, with an ERA of 1.64…Against Rollins (5/4), earned his first collegiate victory with six innings of five-hit, one-run work…On the season's final day, picked up a no-decision in an eventual win over Florida Tech (5/10), going five innings, allowing one run on five hits…All told, he gave up 20 hits in 20 2/3 innings, allowing just four earned runs and striking out 15…Did not allow a home run.
PREVIOUS SCHOOL
Transferred from Florida Atlantic University, where he played one year for head coach John McCormack…pitched in 13 games, starting one, and was 0-3, striking out 12 batters in 16 innings of work.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played at Westminster Christian, winning back-to-back Florida Class 2A state championships in 2009 and 2010…Named All-Miami Dade County as a junior and senior…His final year, hit .408 with seven home runs and 32 RBI…On the mound, had 11 victories and 56 strikeouts.
