Biography

AS A SENIOR (2019-20)
In the fall, raced as part of the Sharks’ B boat during the Head of the Indian Creek Varsity 8 Collegiate Championship, pushing to a split-second finish (0.6 seconds) ahead of Barry's B boat to place sixth overall at 16:29.29 on the 4,000m course.

AS A JUNIOR (2018-19)
Earned second place at the Sunshine State Conference Championships in the varsity four, completing a hard-fought comeback to cross the line at 7:40.00, helping the Sharks to a third-place team finish…Collected a sixth-place varsity four finish in 8:06.40 at the SIRA Championships in Oak Ridge, Tenn…Appeared in the varsity four during the FIRA Championships at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota with a sixth-place finish in 7:50.78… Closed out the season helping the varsity four row to a heat-winning 8:35.643 at the Jefferson Dad Vail, overcoming a bumpy start to finish fourth in a very fast 7:19.13.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2017-18)
Named CRCA Scholar Athlete…One of the key pieces to the success of the varsity eight throughout the season including their first-place finish in the B Final at the Dad Vail Regatta...Placed third with the varsity eight at the Mad Hatter Invitational, Central Sprints (7:13.00), FIRA Championship (5:58.330) and Sunshine State Conference Championship (7:12.50.)…Also raced with the second varsity four boat that finished third at the Mad Hatter Invitational and placed second with Emily Stewart in doubles at FIRA (7:51.01).

AS A FRESHMAN (2016-17)
Named to the SSC Spring Commissioner Honor Roll and CRCA Scholar Athlete…Named to the All-SSC All-Freshman Novice Team…Finished first in the doubles race with Rayna Stuart at the FIRA Championship with a time of 8:21.60…Spent the season with the varsity eight boat placing fourth at UCF (7:01.30), second at FIRA, third at the Sunshine State Conference Championship (6:54.73) and eighth at the Dad Vail Regatta (7:01.29)…Was also a member of the novice eight that took second at FIRA with a time of 7:31.20.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Has two years of rowing experience under her belt, and has raced in the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships twice, which included a fifth-place Grand Final finish in the Youth Lightweight 8+ in 2016...In addition, at the Dallas S.W.E.A.T. Indoor Erg Race, her team took first in the Junior Women's Lightweight Division, also in 2016...Was team captain her novice year of 2014-15.

PERSONAL
Born in Oklahoma City...Plans to major in exercise and sports science...Daughter of Matthew and Destiny McAffrey, with two younger siblings, Avalon and James...Homemade mac and cheese is her favorite food; Pirates of the Carribean is her top movie and Sherlock Holmes her top TV show...Hobbies include rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, drawing and crocheting.
