AS A SOPHOMORE (2020)*
Despite a season cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, Pastore was well on his way to superseding his stellar rookie campaign, batting .330 (fifth-best for NSU) and starting all 22 games in a mix between third base, right field and on the mound...Led the team with an NCAA 98th-most 21 runs and paced the Sharks with the sixth-most national doubles (11), nearly doubling his 2019 total...Recorded just six RBI, but ranked second on the team with 13 walks and third with a .422 on-base percentage...Tied for the team lead with 10 multi-hit games, including a pair of career-high, 2-double outings against No. 2 Colorado Mesa (2/6) and American International (3/6)...Ended the season on a 12-game reached base streak and successfully reached base in 20 games...Made five pitching appearances with four starts, going 0-1 in 12.1 innings, striking out five...At the plate, logged a hot start, opening up with a 3-for-5, one-run outing in the opener against No. 7 North Greenville (1/31), recording the first of his doubles...Also matched that season high of three hits, with a two-double, three-run night against Colorado Mesa (2/6), matching a career high from 2019 for runs that he also attained against Assumption (3/8)...On defense, he grabbed a new career-high five assists at third base against No. 15 Newberry (2/14).
AS A FRESHMAN (2019)
Had arguably the best two-way season in program history, en route to earning the program's third-ever SSC Freshman of the Year award... Hit .344/.420/.392 in 33 games (29 starts) at the plate... Tallied 43 hits, 26 runs scored, six doubles, and 13 runs batted in, along with 14 walks to 19 strikeouts, and 12 stolen bases in 16 chances... Ranked third on the team in both on-base percentage and stolen bases... Posted a 4-0 record in 13 appearances (8 starts) on the mound, with a team-leading 2.51 ERA, a .211 batting average against, and a 1.07 WHIP... Struck out 33 batters and walked just 12 in 43 innings of work, with 34 hits allowed... Collected a season-high four hits three times: Mar. 30 at Rollins, Apr. 14 at Lynn, and Apr. 20 at Eckerd... Ended the season with a 27-game on-base streak, the team's longest of the season... In four straight mid-week starts, had a 0.41 ERA (3 runs, 1 earned) in 22 innings, allowing just 16 total hits (four in each game) and four walks, compared to 18 strikeouts, throwing at least five innings each time out and picking up three out of four wins... 1.89 ERA, .200 opponent average, and 0.97 WHIP in eight starts on the mound, with 27 strikeouts to nine walks... Batted .376/.438/.412 in 22 games of SSC action and pitched to 2.70 ERA with 25 strikeouts to just five walks in 26.2 innings across seven games (five starts) at home in the NSU Baseball Complex... Threw a season-high six innings four times out of his eight starts, including his best start of the season, when he struck out a season-high eight batters, allowing just four hits and a walk without a run crossing the plate against Palm Beach Atlantic on Apr. 2... Matched the six innings in the team's regional opener against West Florida on May 16, allowing just one run on three hits.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played four years as a Wildcat under Victor Scott Hoffman at Paul R. Wharton High School…As a two-way talent, finished his senior year with a .431 batting average and also pitched to a 6-1 record on the mound…In his career complied a sparkling 1.97 ERA, with 64 strikeouts in only 49 innings…Was ranked the 18
th best player in the state of Florida at the hot corner by Perfect Game.
