Biography
AS A SOPHOMORE (2021)
Competed in all four regular season meets of the shortened season before ending the year with a 15th-place, collegiate-best 19.23m (63-1) in the discus at the Peach Belt Championships in Daytona Beach...Also reached a personal-best 7.19m (23-7.25) in the shot put to finish sixth at the South Florida Collegiate Challenge #3 in Miramar...Track and field representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and an active member of the committee's Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
AS A FRESHMAN (2020)
Was not able to compete as the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic brought a halt to all events before her first meet.
HIGH SCHOOL
A thrower from Mansfield High School in Massachusetts, working with coaches Chris Fong and Hillary Crook, she was in outdoor track and field for three years, indoor track and field for two years, cross country for one year and fall/winter cheer for one year for the Hornets..Finished eighth at the 2018 Hockomock League Championship in the discus at 53-9, coming back the next season with a high school-best 63-4...Also set an indoor-best shot put at 22-0.5.
PERSONAL
Arrived at NSU from Mansfield, Massachusetts as a Public Health major with a minor in Pre-Medical Studies...The daughter of Peter Duffin and Nicki Pardo, she has one sibling, Tyler...Notes her biggest athletic achievement as coming back from two hip surgeries and still being able to compete, reminding her how grateful she is to continue after a hard workout or practice...Liked about the NSU the endless opportunities to be taken and also being able to be closer to family with all of them coming from Cuba...Cites her mother and father as her biggest athletic influences, as they taught so many different lessons which shaped her as a person, and have always been her biggest supporters no matter what.
