Biography

AS A SENIOR (2021)
Competed in four meets during his senior campaign, earning first place finishes in back-to-back South Florida Challenge meets, first in the triple jump on a season-best 13.54m (44' 5.25) (3/9) and then as the anchor of the 4x100m relay with a combined 44.71 (3/13)...At the Peach Belt Championships in Daytona Beach, he placed ninth in the triple jump and 11th in the long jump...Served as co-host for the annual Sharky's Award Show and was the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Vice President...Chosen as the 2020-21Homecoming King at NSU...Named to the Peach Belt Conference Championships All-Sportsmanship Team.

AS A JUNIOR (2020)
Was only able to perform in one competition before the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic brought a halt to all events across the country for the season...At the Bobcat-Shark Relays (3/10), was part of the 4x200m relay squad that finished fourth in a combined time of 1:31.27...Earned the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Award and was named to the Peach Belt Conference Teams of Academic Distinction...Served as the co-cost for the Annual Sharky's Award Show...Recipient of the Tony Segreto Athletics Scholarship...Inducted into the inaugural class of NSU's Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society for student-athletes.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2019)
Only competed in two meets due to an injury, but made an impact upon his return, helping the Sharks to a third place finish at the Peach Belt Championships in Daytona Beach with his fourth-place scoring performance in the triple jump on a career-best mark of 14.06m (46-1.5)...Opened the season with a career-best long jump mark of 6.41m (21-0.5) at the Sharks Invitational (3/12).

AS A FRESHMAN (2018)
Competed in four events during his freshman year with the Sharks…Started the season with a season-best in the 200m dash at the UT Track Classic with a time of 22.76s…Placed third in the 400m dash at the 2018 Peach Belt Conference Championship with a career-best 49.21s…Also placed third as a member of the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:19.42s and fourth with 4x100m relay…Finished fifth in the triple jump later in the competition with a personal-best 13.58m...Set a season-best 6.21m in the long jump at the Miami Hurricane Invitational.

HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, playing baseball for two years and then running track two years under Fernando Foyo for the Explorers...His top marks came in the triple jump at13.41m, long jump at 6.09m and 400m at 51.18...Earned the 2017 4A District 15 Championship in the triple jump and also finished fourth in the long jump, helping the team to the District 15 Championship...Helped CCHS also to the 2016 4A District 15 title and a 2016 Region Runner-up finish.

PERSONAL
Majoring in Sport Management...The son of Jason and Shirelle Jackson of Coconut Grove, Florida...His father is the television host and courtside reporter for Miami HEAT telecasts on Sun Sports and his mother is the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Student-Athlete Development at the University of Miami...Has one sibling, Jordan...Coming to NSU, his most memorable sports experience was coming back from being cut from baseball to earning a scholarship to be on the NSU track team because of his dedication and hard work at CCHS...In the community, worked with kids at his local youth center at the Gibson Bethel Community Center in South Miami, was an assistant coach for flag football and basketball for his brother's teams, also giving back in the form of toy drives, shoe drives and clothing drives...Chose NSU because of the bond he found within the team, the small class sizes and individualized approach to learning and coaching...My dad has always pushed me to work hard and never give up on anything...His biggest influences are his parents, always seeing things through helped him find track and and his mother pushed him to be great because of the work she did running track in college...He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc...Actively involved with NSU SAAC's Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
