NSU's student-athletes utilize state-of-the art facilities to receive the "gold standard" in health care. Two athletic training rooms encompassing over 3,000 square feet provide the setting for NSU's athletic training staff to maintain the health and wellness of the student-athlete.
Located in the Don Taft University Center and commissioned in August 2006, the main athletic training room serves 13 of NSU's sports and houses five full time athletic trainers. The main athletic training room is equipped with five treatment tables, therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation, shortwave diathermy, and a 5,000 gallon Hydroworx 2000 underwater treadmill. Located adjacent to the University Center Sports Medicine Clinic, the NSU main athletic training room offers an all encompassing health care experience.
With the rapid growth of NSU athletics, an auxiliary athletic training room located in the new Athletic Services building was opened in January 2011. Staffed by NSU's two graduate assistant athletic trainers, the new athletic training room serves the health care needs of NSU's swimming & diving, track & field and cross country teams. Steps away from the brand new strength & conditioning complex the auxiliary room is equipped with the latest in therapeutic modality and rehabilitation equipment.
Combined with a knowledgeable and dedicated staff, NSU's athletic training facilities will continue to keep NSU's student-athletes healthy, both on and off the field.
