2023 - MEN'S BASKETBALL
The 2023 Nova Southeastern Sharks Men's Basketball team completed just the sixth undefeated National Championship season in the history of NCAA Division II Basketball, as Head Coach Jim Crutchfield guided NSU to the program's first national title. The Sharks finished the 2022-23 season a perfect 36-0 and were one of the most dominant programs in the country on both sides of the court. The Sharks led the nation in scoring offense (102.5), scoring margin (+25), while forcing over 22 turnovers per-game.
RJ Sunahara led the way for the Sharks, as the redshirt junior was recognized as the top player in NCAA Division II Basketball. Sunahara was recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year, D2CCA South Region Player of the Year, NABC National Player of the Year, All-American, and the Bevo Francis Award recipient.
Taking on West Liberty in the NCAA Division II National Championship, NSU and WLU battled in one of the most thrilling title games of all-time. The Sharks scored a national title record 111 points and defeated West Liberty 111-101.
