Peters began his first year with the Sharks in January of 2017. He serves as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, primarily working with the infielders.
During his coaching career, Peters has developed 28 players that have signed professional contracts, including a first-round pick in 1997 when USF's Jason Dellaero was selected 15th by the Chicago White Sox.
While Peters was at HPU, the Panthers set program records for batting average, runs scored, hits, RBI, doubles, home runs, walks and stolen bases.
Additionally, under Peters' tutelage three Panthers hit .400 or better; Billy Alvino and Alfie Wheeler in 2009 and Nate Roberts in 2010. With Peters guidance Roberts led the nation with a .573 on-base percentage and 88 runs scored and became just the second Panther to be named the Big South Player of the Year.
Peters arrived to High Point after a two-year stint at UCF where the team eclipsed nearly all of its offensive totals from the previous years, including batting average, runs scored, on-base percentage, stolen bases, sacrifice flies and sac bunts.
Prior to his time with the Knights, Peters spent time as an assistant at Stetson and USF, his alma mater.
During his playing career at USF (1995-96), Peters was one of the most versatile players in program history as he earned time at second base, shortstop, third base, left field and on the mound. In his career, Peters helped guide the Bulls to two regular season conference titles and two NCAA Regional appearances as a player and three more as a coach.
A native of Lancaster, Calif., Peters was an All-Conference performer at Antelope Valley (Calif.) Community College before transferring to USF where he earned his bachelor's degree in speech communication in 1997.
