Eric Anderson

Eric Anderson joined the Sharks staff in 2021 following almost three years in London England, where he was a coach with the Great Britain National Team Program. 

Before his move across the pond, he taught Physical Education and was the head varsity baseball coach at Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo, California. At Arroyo, Anderson amassed a record of 191-95-3 in 11 years at the helm. His tenure included seven league/conference championships and nine NCS Playoff victories. Moreover, in 2017 under his leadership, Arroyo High School went on to win its first-ever North Coast Section Championship, California’s version of a State Championship. He has also earned League Coach of the Year honors three times and was named D-II NCS Coach of the Year in 2017.

This marks Anderson’s third coaching stint with Gutierrez. Their first coaching stop was in 2002- 2003 at Coral Gables High School. At that time, Anderson provided oversight in the development of 3 eventual Major League Baseball players - Yonder Alonso, Eddy Rodriguez and Jonathan Diaz. Alongside Gutierrez, Anderson was a coach for the North Adams Steeple Cats in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), where he helped lead the team to the most wins in franchise history, a playoff birth and a second-place finish in the Southern Division of the NECBL.

Anderson played college baseball for both College of the Sequoias and Porterville College of the Central Valley Conference. He is a 2000 graduate of California State University, Hayward where he earned his B.S. in Kinesiology. June 2021 he is due to complete his M.A. in Performance Psychology. He and his wife of 19 years, Alexis and two sons, Xavier and Mateo now reside in Miramar.
