Erick Orbeta joined the Sharks prior to the 2025 season as an Assistant Coach.
Orbeta brings a strong playing background and a proven track record of success at multiple collegiate levels to his coaching role. A Miami, Florida native, Orbeta began his career at Hillsborough Community College, where he earned first-team all-conference honors, before continuing his development at Miami Dade College. At MDC, he played a key role in the Sharks’ 2021 FCSAA State Championship run, earning first-team all-state recognition and helping lead the program to the NJCAA National Tournament. He concluded his career at the University of South Alabama, where he emerged as one of the top hitters in the Sun Belt Conference, earning Second-Team All-Sun Belt honors after batting .340 with a .444 on-base percentage while starting all 50 games in 2022. Orbeta now applies his well-rounded experience to developing student-athletes and contributing to the continued success of the program.
