Ryan Romero is a dedicated member of the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) community, with an impressive 23-year tenure at the institution. Currently serving as the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Operations, he has played a pivotal role in the university's athletic program's growth and success.
Romero's journey at NSU began in 2001 when he joined as the Assistant Baseball Coach under the leadership of head coaches Michael Mominey and Greg Brown. During his time as a coach, the Sharks baseball team achieved remarkable milestones, including consecutive NCAA Championship Tournament appearances in 2011 and 2012. His contributions played a vital role in the program's success, with multiple top 25 rankings and nine consecutive 30+ win seasons.
Ryan's passion for athletics extended beyond coaching, leading him to serve as the Athletic Equipment Manager from 2009 to 2014. His hands-on experience and dedication to ensuring top-notch facilities and operations earned him the title of Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Facilities and External Operations from November 2017 until August 2023.
In his current role as the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Operations, Ryan Romero oversees the internal and external operations within NSU's Athletic Department. His responsibilities encompass a wide range of crucial aspects, including oversight of Athletic Facilities as well as the planning and implementation of Athletic Department initiatives. Under his leadership, NSU Athletics continues to thrive.
Ryan's commitment to education is evident in his academic achievements. He holds a Master of Science degree in General Psychology, underscoring his dedication to personal and professional growth. Beyond his career, Ryan cherishes family life. He resides in Cooper City with his wife Jessica and their two children, Jillian (17) and Trevor (14).
