Shanygne Bitna

Following a three-year stint as the team's assistant coach, Shanygne Bitna was promoted to head coach of the Nova Southeastern Sharkettes in 2020. 

Bitna attended NSU, earning her Bachelor's in Communications and in Dance, as well as her Master's in College Student Affairs. She was a member of the Sharkettes for four years, serving as captain during her sophomore, junior and senior years. 

Throughout her dance career, Bitna has worked with high-profile artists such as Daddy Yankee, Jason Derulo, Kevin Lyttle, and was a principal dancer for Leikeli47's music video that aired on the American sitcom series Grownish. In 2017, she performed at the El Classico halftime show for Marc Anthony.

Bitna also has experience as an intern at Augusto Soledade Brazzdance Company,  and has choreographed and performed for major cricket leagues such as the Caribbean Premier League and the International Cricket Council. 

Bitna recently made the 2021-2022 Miami Dolphins Cheerleading Team and is in training camp for the start of the NFL preseason.
