Smith enters his third season as the Sharks Men's Basketball assistant coach in 2024-25.
During his first season, Smith helped guide Nova Southeastern to the sixth undefeated National Championship season in NCAA Division II history, as NSU finished the 2022-23 campaign a perfect 36-0 and won the program's first national title.
Smith transitioned to the coaches bench for the 2022-23 season, after an exceptional career leading the Sharks offense. Smith was an integral piece during the Sharks Elite Eight run during the 2021-22 campaign, and during his career, averaging 12.3 points-per-game, led the Sunshine State Conference and Division II in assists-per-game (8.1), assist-to-turnover ratio (4.9) and steals-per-game (3.2). Smith made 108 consecutive starts during his Nova Southeastern career and was named to the Bevo Francis Top-50 Watchlist during the 2021-22 season.
Smith joined the Sharks prior to the 2017-18 season, appeared in 121 games and accumulated over 3,500 minutes of action. Smith recorded 1,426 points (11.8 ppg), 482 assists (4.0 apg), 555 rebounds (4.6 rpg), while shooting 0.461/0.408/0.772 during his career.
