Rhodes joins the NSU swim coaching staff from Berry College where she was the graduate assistant swim coach from August of 2019 to May of 2021. She worked closely with the distance and mid-distance groups, helping student-athletes achieve multiple Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Individual Championship Titles, two SAA Conference Records, as well as multiple NCAA Division III ‘B’ cut times. She also helped lead the men’s program to an SAA runner-up finish in 2021. Rhodes also completed her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management in her time at Berry College.

Prior to Berry College, Rhodes attended Delta State University where she completed her bachelor of science degree in health, physical education and recreation with a specialization in exercise science and a minor in allied health. 

While at Delta State, Sierra competed for the Lady Statesmen in the 500, 1,000 and 1,650 yard freestyle disciplines where she was a two-time NCAA DII National Qualifier and NCAA Individual Scholar All-American. In 2019, Sierra finished as an Honorable Mention All-American in the 1,650 yard freestyle at the DII National Championships and again was honored as an Individual Scholar All-American.

Before her time at Delta State, Sierra swam for two years at Olivet-Nazarene University. While swimming for the Tigers, she was a two-time NAIA All-American in the 500 and 1,650 yard freestyle, as well as a school record holder in the 1,000 and 1,650 yard freestyle. In 2016, she also aided in the team's national runner-up performance and national championship performance in 2017.
