Sydney Lageyre enters her first year as assistant coach to Julie LeMaire in 2023 following a long career as a student-athlete at NSU. Lageyre completed her eligibility playing under Coach LeMaire in the spring of 2022 where she was a part of the program’s first ever Conference Championship title. In her final season, the Miami native had a season full of personal best in almost every offensive category batting .377 with 69 hits, 38 runs, 28 RBIs, and 31 stolen bases placing her on the Sunshine State leadership board in multiple categories including first in batting average, first in hits, fourth in runs scored, and third in stolen bases. Lageyre earned first-team All-SSC honors, All-SSC Defensive team honors, and NSCA All-Region second team honors. The highlight of Lageyre’s career came the second week of March in 2020 as she was named both Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week and 2020 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week for her outstanding play.

Lageyre spent 6 years playing under Coach LeMaire at NSU and ended her career with a .311 batting average. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exceptional Student Education with an ESOL Endorsement and a Master of Science degree in Exceptional Student Education with a focus in children with autism spectrum disorder. After graduating and completing her eligibility, Lageyre spent a year in Spain teaching English to Elementary students with special needs.
