AS A SENIOR (2019)
One of five Sharks to start in all 50 games played… was named the 2019 SSC Player of the Year and earned multiple postseason awards including All-SSC First Team, D2CCA All-South Region First Team, NFCA All-South Region First Team and NFCA All-America Second Team…  topped the squad with 61 hits in 149 at-bats, compiling a .409 batting average… led the team in most offensive categories with eight home runs, 44 RBI, 31 runs scored, 109 total bases, .475 on-base percentage and a .732 slugging percentage… stole 11 bases, walked 16 times and was hit by seven pitches… hit her first homerun of the season against East Stroudsburg during a career-high four RBI game (Feb. 10)… had a season-high four hits at Albany State, blasting two home runs in the same game (Mar. 5)… posted a nine-game hitting streak from Apr. 6 to Apr. 27… plated more than two RBI in 12 games… recorded a hit in 36 of 50 games, including 17 multi-hit games…made 105 putouts at second base with a fielding percentage of .945.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Spending her first two years at Palm Beach State College, Van Gurp joins the Sharks after one season at West Texas A&M. During her 2018 season, she posted a .424 batting average, the best on the team, and a .741 slugging percentage. She tallied 67 hits with 41 RBI and scored 46 times. A power hitter, Van Gurp also recorded seven doubles, five triples and 11 homers. At Palm Beach State, Van Gurp was a two-time All-American for the Panthers.
