A former No. 1 player in NCAA Division II during her collegiate playing days as a Shark, Sophie Madden has joined the Nova Southeastern staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2019-20 season.
When all was said and done, Madden proved to be one of the very best to play for the Sharks following an illustrious stretch that ran from 2015-19. The Essex, England native was named an All-American three times, earning a first-team honors as a junior. She collected three individual wins throughout her career, and added a ninth-place finish at the National Championship in 2016.
Madden's efforts made Nova Southeastern a national contender over the years, leading them to a pair of Top-5 finishes at the National Championship in both 2016 and 2018. The Sharks collected a regional championship along the way, in addition to consecutive Sunshine State Conference Tournament titles in 2017 and 2018.
Madden graduated from NSU this past spring with her degree in Sport and Recreation Management.
