Hailey Mercuri enters her first season as a graduate assistant for NSU Women’s Rowing in 2025.
Before joining NSU, Mercuri competed as a Division I rower at the University of Iowa for four years. She was in the varsity 8 throughout her time there and capped off her final year competing in the quad boat at the Henley Royal Regatta in England. In 2023, she became one of the first team captains under new staffing. Mercuri earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a pending minor in French in May 2024. She spent her freshman year at the University of Oklahoma, rowing in the varsity 8 at the Head of the Charles, before the COVID pandemic.
Originally from Ontario, Canada, Mercuri has competed nationally and internationally. Her notable achievements include rowing in the under-23 Worlds 8 boat in Varese, Italy, the under-19 Worlds double boat in Tokyo, Japan, and CANAMMEX quad and double boats in Mexico City.
Mercuri attended Grimsby Secondary School, where she earned 3 Canadian Henley golds, 2 Schoolboy Regatta golds, and several other wins in the single, double, and quad events.
Inspired by the lessons imparted by her coaches, Mercuri wishes to pay it forward in mentoring and empowering hard-working female athletes in the sport of rowing.
