Steve Richards joined the NSU women’s soccer coaching staff prior to the 2005 season. Richards has a background rich in soccer as both a player and coach.
The native of England is a former professional soccer player in Europe and the United States. He was also the coach of the Orlando Nighthawks professional soccer team.
At the club level Richards has coached the Melbourne Beach Under17 competitive team and at the high school level he has coached both the boys and girls Viera High School Soccer teams.
Richards has been responsible for raising the level of play of thousands of young soccer players nationwide with Post-to-Post Training Centers, which was one of the largest soccer programs in the country. Among the big names he has coached is former United States Women’s National Team Captain Michelle Akers.
