A CSCAA Second Team All-American in the 500 Freestyle and 1000 Freestyle, Buchanan made a splash in her first season in the pool for the Sharks. Buchanan made it to the B Final at the NCAA Championships placing 11th in the 1000 Free and 15th in the 500 Free to become a two-time All-American in just her freshman season.
HIGH SCHOOL
Attended and swam at Trinity Preparatory School, where she was a District Champion in the 500 Freestyle and 200 freestyle and state finalist in the 500 Freestyle as a senior. She was voted Team MVP, Trinity Preparatory School Scholar Athlete of the Year, and Seminole County Private School Scholar Athlete of the Year. She also swam with the Greater Orlando Aquatics Team.
PERSONAL
Daughter of Stefan and Denise Buchanan... has one sibling, Shay... says that being a state finalist in the 500 free is her most memorable athletic achievement... is majoring in computer science... likes the resources and friendly people the most about NSU... names her parents as the most influential people in her life.
