Kostirko enters her second season with the Sharks women's tennis program in 2020-21 after joining the staff in September 2019 as a graduate assistant coach. During her first season at NSU, the Sharks achieved a program-best No. 3 final ranking in the COVID-19 pandemic-shortened 2020 season with a 13-1 (4-0 SSC) record and victories over five ranked programs. The 2020 Sharks produced the nation's top doubles pair in All-Americans Natalie Espinal and Sarah Wardenburg, while Espinal and Karolina Snita garnered singles All-American accolades.
Making her first appearance in the coaching world, Kostirko came to Nova Southeastern following a very successful playing career at Boston University, where she received a her undergraduate degree in Human Physiology.
Originally from Mississauga, Ontario (Canada), Kostirko was a member of Team Ontario for several years and then went on to help the BU Terriers to three Patriot League Championships and three appearances in the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships - meeting No. 15 Duke, No. 16 Texas Tech and Oklahoma State in those tournaments. Largely playing at the No. 1 position in both doubles and singles across her Boston career, Kostirko was a three-time All-Patriot League first-teamer (2015, '17, '18) and one-time All-Patriot League second-teamer (2016), earning the conference's Tournament MVP Award in 2015. In addition, Kostirko was a three-year member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll (2015-17) and finished with 57 career singles wins and 45 career doubles victories.
