AS A FRESHMAN (2024) 
Started three matches, appearing in 77 sets across 22 matches... ranks fifth on the Sharks with 134 digs and 1.74 digs-per-set... recorded double-digit digs in five matches, setting a season-best with 14 on October 22nd versus Florida Tech before matching the total on October 26th against Tampa. 

PRIOR TO NSU
Deferme joins Nova Southeastern from Grandview High School, where she was a four-year varsity letter winner. Deferme earned Second-Team All-State recognition in 2022, as well as being named an Honorable mention to the All-State team in 2021. Emerson was also named to the First-Team All-League in both 2021 and 2022, in addition to the Second-Team All-League in the spring of 2021. Deferme was also nominated for the Club Volleyball VBallRecruiter Junior Player of the Year in 2021.

PERSONAL

Deferme has three sisters, one of whom played volleyball at Pacific University... She lived in the Netherlands for three years...This season, Deferme's goals are to give her all in both games and practices and achieve an average hitting percentage of .280... She loves going to the beach and is a big fan of Chipotle...
