Amy Vaughan

Amy Vaughan was promoted to Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Nova Southeastern University in March of 2024, following two seasons on the Sharks’ staff and a highly successful tenure as interim head coach during the 2023 campaign.

In her second season leading the program, Vaughan guided NSU through one of the most accomplished years in program history. The Sharks finished the 2025 season with a 16-1-4 overall record and a 7-0-3 mark in Sunshine State Conference play, capturing both the SSC Regular Season and Tournament Championships for the first time in program history. NSU advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, hosted multiple postseason matches, and spent the season ranked inside the national top 10. Vaughan, alongside her staff, was recognized with Staff of the Year honors, highlighting the program’s growth and competitive consistency.

Individually, Vaughan coached several Sharks to national and conference recognition during the championship season, including Sofia Suarez, who earned D2CCA All-America honors, along with multiple All-Region and All-SSC selections as the Sharks swept major conference awards.
During the 2024 season, Vaughan led NSU to an 8-6-4 record and its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019. The Sharks earned the No. 5 seed in the NCAA South Region and advanced with a first-round victory before falling in the second round. Vaughan coached multiple All-SSC honorees, including Freshman of the Year Alexa Bereczki, as well as first-, second- and third-team all-conference selections.

As interim head coach in 2023, Vaughan guided Nova Southeastern to a 10-3-1 regular season record and the No. 3 seed in the SSC Tournament. The Sharks made a deep NCAA postseason run, defeating nationally ranked West Florida and Embry-Riddle to advance to the NCAA South Region Championship. NSU was ranked as high as No. 16 nationally and finished the season ranked 17th in NCAA Division II.
Vaughan also served on the Sharks’ staff during the 2022 season, helping lead Nova Southeastern to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019. She brings nearly a decade of collegiate coaching experience, beginning her career at Keiser University (2015-18) before serving as a volunteer assistant at Barry University (2019-21). Vaughan joined the NSU staff ahead of the 2022 season and has played a key role in the program’s sustained rise at the national level.

As a student-athlete, Vaughan helped Northwood (now Keiser) to a 64-16-6 overall record, a Sun Conference Tournament Championship, and four consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearances. She was named Sun Conference Newcomer of the Year in 2011, earned first-team all-conference honors, and received NAIA All-America honorable mention recognition.

Vaughan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Sports Management, a Master of Science degree from Palm Beach Atlantic, and a Master of Business Administration from Keiser University.
