Steve Burgess enters his fourth season with the Nova Southeastern Women’s Soccer program in 2026-27 and has played a key role in the Sharks’ rise as a national contender. During his time at NSU, the Sharks have earned multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, including NCAA Round of 16 runs in 2023 and 2025, while capturing the 2025 Sunshine State Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships, for the first time in program history.

Burgess brings more than 25 years of coaching and technical leadership experience across the collegiate, youth and high school levels. Prior to NSU, he was part of the coaching staff at Keiser University, helping lead the program to NAIA National Championships in 2019 and 2021, while earning United Soccer Coaches Staff of the Year honors.

Widely respected for his work in player development and club leadership, Burgess has served as a Director of Coaching and technical leader for several successful Florida youth clubs, overseeing coaching education, player pathways, and club-wide development models. He also enjoyed tremendous success at American Heritage High School (Plantation), leading the girls program to six state championships and earning NSCAA National Coach of the Year honors.

Burgess holds numerous advanced coaching qualifications, including the NSCAA Premier Diploma, UEFA B License, USSF B License, and USSF Club Technical Leader License.
