Stillwate,Okla. – The Nova Southeastern men’s and women’s cross country teams completed day one of the Cowboy Jamboree Saturday, Sept.28, hosted by Oklahoma State.
The women competed in the 5k race with
Alexandria Palm (Jr.,Winnebago, Ill.) leading the field of Sharks with a time of 19:12.62 that placed her 31st overall.
Peri Bowman (Jr.,Virginia Beach, Va.) was the next Shark to come in with a time of 20:01.80 which placed her 48th overall.
Aimee Sims (So. St. Anne, Ill.) was another top competitor for the Sharks coming in with a time of 20:28.82.
The men immediately followed the women at 9:45 a.m. in an 8k race against a full field of 20 teams. The Sharks placed 14th overall, beating teams such as Texas Christian, Harding, and Oral Roberts, and Abilene Christian.
Kevin Meagher (Sr., Providence, RI) led the way with a time of 26:33.01, which was landed him in 48th place. The next Shark to cross the finish line was
Timo Kilp (Jr., Tallinn, Estonia) who came in 57th, with a time of 26:43.52. Following after Kilp, was teammate
Omar Hernandez (Sr., Rio Pic, Az) who came in 91st with a time of 27:58.19.
The Sharks are back in action on Oct.5th as they make their way to Tallahassee,Fla. for the Florida State Invitational.
