COMPLETE RESULTS
SARASOTA, Fla. – The No. 6 Nova Southeastern University rowing team claimed second place at the 2016 Sunshine State Conference Rowing Championship with second-place finishes in the varsity four and varsity eight races.
The event, hosted by the University Tampa, was held at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. NSU went up against conference foes No. 1 Barry University, No. 4 Florida Tech, Rollins and Tampa.
The Sharks' exhibition four claimed victory in the first race of the day with a time of 8:08.9. The team of coxswain
Hannah DiLorenzo (Jr., Holland Patent, N.Y.),
Kelsey Field (Fr., Ferndale, Mich.),
Gabriella Lopez (So., Orlando, Fla.),
Danica Buse (So., Marysville, Wash.) and
Jenna Beavon (So., Kettering, Ohio) beat Florida Tech by 9.7 seconds and Barry by 13.8 seconds.

Carlie Morley (So., Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.),
Rayna Stuart (Fr., Victoria, British Columbia, Canada),
Remi McClellan (Sr., Mullica, N.J.) and coxswain
Victoria Porretti (So., Norristown, Pa.) claimed a second-place finish behind Barry in 8:01.6.
The varsity eight had a strong race claiming second place in 7:03.6, which was just 6.4 seconds behind the Bucs. The Sharks varsity eight was led by veterans

Cassilly Lobaugh (Jr., Milton, Ga.),
Adrianna Rosario (Sr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.),
Kamaye Nichols (So., Miami, Fla.),
Daesha Roberts (Jr., Yulee, Fla.) and coxswain
Amanda Hudon (Sr., Sebastian, Fla.) along with rising stars
Sarah Woelfer (Jr., Fishers, Ind.),
McKenzie George (Fr., Loveland, Ohio) and
Marnie McLean (Fr., Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada).
For their performances, Woelfer and McClellan were named to the All-Conference Team while George earned All-Freshman Team honors. NSU finished the day with a team total 15 points.
The Sharks aren't done yet as they will compete at the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta where they will face the country's top competitors including Barry. The event will be held on May 13 and 14 on Philadelphia's Schuylkill River.
