FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  – On Friday, Nov. 17, members of the Nova Southeastern rowing team volunteered their time with the Young at Art Museum's 12th Annual Recycled Fashion Show.
 
The fashion show, which affords teenagers a platform for creative expression, is a fundraiser in which all of the proceeds benefit Girls 'N Power, an arts-based gender empowerment program conducted at PACE Center of Broward, a non-residential treatment program and high school for at-risk teen girls in Wilton Manors.
 
During the event, Nicole Baliszweski, Danica Buse, Jessica Cavalier, Stephanie Fleming, Katherine Godwin, Gabriela Lopez, Samantha Loriot, Ariel McAffrey, Whitney Merryman, Abigail Miller, Jasmine Morris, Kassie Moss, Gabrielle Orr, Victoria Porretti, Krystal Renta, Miranda Sadlaw, Barbara Sansur, Mikayla Shelton, Zoe Stein, Emily Stewart, Rayna Stuart, Mikayla Switzer combined to volunteer for a total of 110 hours. Their volunteer time included assisting with event set up and break down, engaging with guests at art workshops, and greeting visitors.
 
"Young at Art Museum is grateful for the Nova Southeastern rowing team's support during the 12th annual recycled fashion show fundraiser," said Zach Spechler, YAA's Museum Curator & Volunteer Coordinator. "Many staff members complimented the team, noting how delightful they were to work with and how their help allowed them to finish breaking down the event in half the time. Their participation and enthusiasm made the event a truly special night!"
