Kavan Thompson (Fr., Melbourne, Fla.) earns NSUSharks.com Athlete of the Week for his perfomance in leading the baseball team to a series victory at Eckerd to kick off Sunshine State Conference play. After losing, 2-1, to Eckerd on Friday, Thompson led a resurgent Shark offense that scored 30 more runs than the Tritons over a doubleheader on Saturday. Thompson went 9-for-9 on the day, in what was a breakout performance for the freshman.
