Mike Melendez (So., Miramar, Fla.) earns NSUSharks.com Athlete of the Week after he helped the Sharks stave off a sweep at the hands of No. 6 Tampa, as his two grand slams in game two of Saturday’s doubleheader pushed the team to an 11-6 victory. Melendez reached base eight times in the series, going 6-for-11 (.545) with a 1.182 slugging percentage. He also was perfect on three stolen base attempts and did not commit an error at first base.
