Kayla Wright has been sensational as of late, earning the last SSC Offensive Player of the Week award before break, before nearly notching a double-double in the first game after. Wright has been a force in the post, beginning in a win over Shaw. That day, she fell just two points shy of the women's all-time record for points in a game, scoring 34 on an astonishing 17-of-21 shooting line. She added five rebounds in only 23 minutes of action. Then during the Shark Holiday Classic, beginning Saturday, Wright led the team with 17 points as NSU defeated Miles by 53. In that game, she shot 6-of-10 and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line. She finished up the weekend with 10 points against Lane, on another efficient line of 5-of-7. All told, she was good on 73.7 percent of her shots in those three games, and then scored 12 points while pulling down eight rebounds in a win over Embry-Riddle.
