FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University women’s soccer team (7-3-1, 4-0-1 SSC) take a break from conference play this Tuesday to host the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (7-3-1) at the NSU Soccer Complex at 7:30 pm.
The Sharks enter this game having full possession of first place in the Sunshine State Conference for the first this season. NSU has not fallen in its last seven matches going 6-0-1 while holding a clean slate in conference play thus far at 4-0-1.
Last time out the Sharks rolled past the Eckerd Tritons 4-0 at the NSU Soccer Complex on Oct. 12. The Sharks showed offensive depth while four different people found the net in the match. Keeper
Chrissy Hy tallied a career-high sixth shut-out of the year posting four saves, raising her season total to 57.
The players to watch in this game will be senior midfielder and co-captain
Alexis Hernandez (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) and freshman midfielder
Malin Broberg (Stockholm, Sweden). Hernandez leads the team with eight goals this season while dishing out an assist. Broberg follows with three goals and four assists on the year.
The Sharks lead the all-time series against PBA 18-7-0 while winning the last four times against the Sailfish. Nova Southeastern shutout PBA 3-0 in its last meeting at the NSU Soccer Complex in 2009.
The Sailfish recently feel to University of Tampa 2-0 on Oct. 15.
