Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. – The men’s and women’s swimming teams will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 29 hosting the Florida Atlantic Owls at 2 pm in a dual swim meet at the NSU Aquatic Complex.

It will be the fifth meet of the season for the Sharks having participated in the All-Florida Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. and competed in a pair of dual meets against Florida State (Oct. 9) and Florida Southern (Oct. 16) this season at the NSU Aquatic Complex and one dual meet on the road against Tampa (Oct. 23).

The Sharks head into Friday’s meet having split with the University of Tampa on the road. The women were edged by the Spartans 135-115, while the men picked up their second straight Sunshine State Conference win 158-104 over Tampa.

For the women, NSU’s Ewa Jamborska (Jr., Katowice, Poland) led Sharks for the second straight week with a trio of wins in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke and posted the third best time in the women’s 200-yard IM at 2:13.71 which was her first “B” qualifying standard time this season. Jonas Grundstrom (Jr., Fagersta, Sweden) led the men’s charge with his own trio of wins in the 200, 500, and 1,000-yard freestyle races en route to being named Sunshine State Conference Male Swimmer of the Week.

Grundstrom’s efforts also earned him the Male Division II National Swimmer of the Week honors, the second straight honor earned by an NSU male swimmer. His Councilman Hunsaker award came on the heels of recording times of 1:46.42 in the 200-yard free, 4:45.28 in the 500-yard free, and 9:53.11 in the 1,000-yard free events.
