FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Board of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards is pleased to announce that senior Taylor Collins (Sr., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) has been nominated as a candidate for the 2010-2011 Division II Athlete of the Year.
The ballot listing all (11 total) sport winners to determine The Division II Athlete of the Year will be announced at a press conference June 27, 2011 in New York City.
Now in its 35th year, the Collegiate Women Sports Awards honors 15 outstanding female athletes from NCAA-member schools every year. Beginning with the top woman collegiate athlete in each of 12 NCAA Division I sanctioned sports, adding the Division II and Division III Athlete of the Year and The Inspiration Award recipient, the program is culminated by one of the top 12 Honda Sports Award winners receiving the Honda-Broderick Cup and being named the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year.
As part of this nomination, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. will donate $1,000 to the women’s athletic fund for NSU. Additionally American Honda Motor Co., Inc. will donate $5,000 to the school of the Division II Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year recipient.
Below are the seven names have been released so far and all names will be released by June 10.
