Final Results

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern men's golf team completed play at the 2013 Guy Harvey Invitational in third place after Tuesday's one-plus rounds at the PGA National.

With the second round interrupted due to weather on Monday, the teams completed more than half of those 18 holes on Tuesday morning before feeding directly into the final round. Three individuals then played one more hole to determine the winner.

The Sharks' team total of 862 was one stroke behind Sunshine State Conference rival and runner-up Lynn (861). Barry took home the team title with an 854. The Buccaneers' second round score of 276 set a new tournament record, besting the 279 posted by NSU in 2012.

Through 54 holes, there was a three-way tie for the top individual between the Barry duo of Adam Svensson and Mario Beltran and Flagler's Spencer Schindler. Each finished regulation play with a score of 211. On the first playoff hole, the par-4 No. 18, Svensson and Beltran each parred, and Schindler scored a six. The two Barry players chose to to take the tie and as such are recognized as co-medalists of the event.

NSU was paced by two top-10 finishers, Ricardo Celia (Sr., Barranquilla, Columbia) and Hunter O'Mahony (So., Jupiter, Fla.). Celia placed in a tie for fifth with a 213 (73-69-71), with O'Mahoney a stroke behind at 214 (73-69-72), tying for eighth.

Santiago Gomez (So., Armenia, Colombia) finished Tuesday with a 1-under-par 71, and a total of 217 (72-74-71), finishing tied for 18th. Ian Facey (Jr., Miami) was next at 221 (73-75-73), followed by Mitch Farrer (Sr., West Sussex, England) at 228 (76-72-80).

Individually, Miguel Angel Jimenez (Fr., Malaga, Spain) finished with two under-par rounds to total a 224 (83-70-71). Oscar Lengdèn (Jr., Helsingborg, Sweden) had a 1-under final round and a 226 total (80-75-71), and James Swan (Jr., London, England) was the final Shark competing at 244 (85-80-79).

The men will finish up the fall season with the Rollins-hosted McDonough Cup, beginning Oct. 29 in Orlando, Fla. The two-day event will be played at the Rio Pinar Golf and Country Club.
