RESULTS
MIRAMAR, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern men’s and women’s track and field teams completed their second meet of the 2013 season Friday at Florida Invitational with three new school records.
Ryan Jerothe (So., New Port Richey, Fla.) broke the school’s pole vault record for this second time this season leaping 4.60 meters, which broke his previous record set last week of 4.55 meters. Jerothe remains No.1 in the nation in the event, while also placing third in the javelin, throwing 33.78 meters.
Ben Futerman (Sr., Freehold, N.J) was a record-breaker in the discus, throwing 40.62 meters. Futerman broke a two-year old record set by Tyler Hisamoto, who threw 40.10. Futerman also placed fourth in the hammer and shot put at the meet, throwing 26.84 and 10.87 meters, respectively.
On the women’s side,
Vanessa Munley (So. Moosiac, Pa.) broke her own school record in the women’s pole vault throwing 3.35 meters. Munley set her previous record of 3.20 at the University of North Florida last season. She remains No. 1 in the nation in the event. Munley was also second in both the long jump and triple jump, reaching 4.75 and 10.40 meters, respectively.
Darren Hendricks (Fr., North Port, Fla.) had a first-place throw for the Sharks in the javelin with a distance of 42.72 meters. This is Hendrick's first win as a Shark.
Angela Kuhar (So., Erie, Pa.) was a double winner for the Sharks, in the long jump and triple jump leaping 4.91 and 11.14 meters, respectively.
The Sharks will return back to the track when they travel to Cobb Stadium at Miami for a two-day event beginning this Friday, March 15.
