WINTER PARK, Fla. – Nova Southeastern men’s golfer No. 1
Benjamin Taylor (Jr., Leatherhead, England) has been named Sunshine State Conference Men's Golfer of the Week presented by VALIC as announced by the conference office.
The No. 1 nationally ranked Taylor led the top-ranked Sharks to victory at Barry's Buccaneer Invitational, returning to his winning ways, taking medalist honors in the 83-golfer field. Taylor shot a 9-under 204 (71-66-67) to claim a three-stroke victory over Barry's Scott Smyers.
The Sharks' 25-under at the Invitational was 13-strokes better then anyone in the field with second place being awarded to No. 2 Barry, who shot a -12 (284-278-278—840). NSU shot the two lowest rounds of the tournament with a -14 (270) second round, followed by a -13 (271) in the final round, which lead to three top-five individual finishers.
