NSU Swimming Faces Florida Southern on the Road

Sharks taking on their first road meet of 2014.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University men's and women's swimming teams will hit the road for the first time in January to face off with the Florida Southern Moccasins in Lakeland, Fla. at 2 p.m.

The NSU women are currently tied for No. 15 in the CSCAA Division II Women's Swimming and Diving poll and will face the fourth-ranked FSC Mocs on Saturday. The Sharks head into the meet with a 4-1 dual meet record while the Mocs are currently 4-0. The two teams did however have an opportunity to face off with each other in a four-day invitational hosted by NSU in Dec. FSC finished third out of 10, while NSU was a close fourth.

On the men's side, the Sharks are currently ranked No. 14 by the CSCAA Division II Men's Swimming and Diving top-25 poll, while the FSC men are No. 4. The Mocs men are also 4-0 in dual meet action and the NSU men are 3-2. Both teams faced each other in the Fourth Annual NSU Sharks Invitational in Dec. with FSC finishing second and the NSU men a close third.

The Sharks will also have a new face joining the team over the weekend with Mike Kuzma now serving as the new assistant coach for both programs. Kuzma comes to NSU after serving as the assistant coach at University of La Verne in Calif. under head coach Pat Skehan.
