NSU enters the game looking to make up for their result at Palm Beach Atlantic Saturday, in which the Sharks lost, 88-69.
Brian Cahill (Jr., Arlington, Va.) dished out a team-best and season-high six assists against the Sailfish and tied for the team-lead in points with 10.
Justin Jeangerard (Jr., Weaverville, Calif.) returned after a one-game absence and came off the bench to score 10 points and collect five rebounds.
Ryan Steed (So., Miami), making his NSU debut, was the third scorer in double-digits, scoring 10 points on 4-for-5 shooting all in the second half.
Barry enters the game following a loss Saturday at home against Saint Leo, 84-81. Despite a run that saw the Bucs charge to 25th in the national poll, the two teams are currently tied in the Sunshine State Conference standings at 1-2.
Regardless of record, the NSU-Barry matchup is as close to a guaranteed great game as it gets. Eight of the last nine games between the South Florida rivals have been decided by four points or less. Neither squad has had an advantage, with the series split for three straight seasons. The last time either team won a season series came in 2009-10, when the Sharks won by a total margin of four points.
NSU also won the last matchup, 61-57, which ended the 2012-13 regular season. Lukas Roesch led the Sharks on the road with 17 points on 7-for-13 shooting. He scored the final bucket of the game, which put the Sharks up by four points with 11 seconds left. Iran Hollis and Cahill each had a team-best nine rebounds. Cahill also chipped in a game-high six assists. Jeangerard added 13 points and seven rebounds.
