FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – After a three-week hiatus from competition, Nova Southeastern University will jump back in the pool this weekend, when Lynn and Rollins come to town on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
The Sharks began their 2014-15 year at the Pinch-A-Penny All-Florida Invitational hosted by the University of Florida. Finishing third on the men's side with 688 points and sixth on the women's side 169 points, NSU competed well against a host of NCAA Division I teams.
A newcomer to the Sharks,
Thiago Sickert (So., Vila Velha, Brazil) crushed his debut with five NCAA National B qualifying times, as well as setting the school record in the 100-yard butterfly. On the women's side,
Bryndis Hansen (So., Akureyri, Iceland) finished the weekend with two NCAA National B qualifying times in the 50 and 100-free.
Lynn comes to the NSU Aquatic Center after competing with conference foes Florida Tech and Saint Leo a little over a week ago. Being that Lynn only features a women's team, the NSU men's team will intersquad on Thursday to prepare for their meet this coming Saturday against the Rollins Tars. The Tars will travel from Winter Park after their dual with Saint Leo this past weekend.
Thursday's meet is set to start at 3 p.m. while Saturday's meet will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday will be the Sharks' "Think-Pink" meet in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
