FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern University men's basketball team wrapped up preseason play Saturday with an exhibition win over the Covenant Scots, 84-61, at home. 
The Sharks were led by senior 
Brian Cahill (Arlington, Va.), who scored 15 points off 6-for-10 shooting. He also tallied three assist and four steals to just one turnover. 
Maurice Fuller (Sr., Westfield, Ind.) was right behind him with a near perfect 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting. 
Justin Jeangerard (Sr., Weaverville, Calif.) had a team-best six boards, while 
Stian Berg (Sr., Baerum, Norway) came off the bench to record a game-best four assists. 
Covenant gave the Sharks exactly what they needed in their last preseason game, a tough game for 40 minutes. The NCAA Division III Scots only trailed by three points seven minutes into the game at 19-16 and made a handful of 3-pointers early. However, NSU would pull away on an 18-5 run which created the scoring gap that would exist for the rest of the night. NSU was a perfect 6-for-6 from the floor during the run. 
The Scots would cut the lead to eight points with four minutes left in the first half, but the Sharks ended the period on a 12-2 run to give themselves more breathing room. NSU entered the break leading, 49-31. The Sharks shot 17-for-28 in the first half, good for 60.7 percent shooting. 
The second half was close throughout, with NSU only winning the half by five points. NSU came out of the gate strong, outscoring Covenant 20-12 over the first eight minutes. There, NSU would hold its largest lead at 69-43. The Scots kept on coming, but would only cut the deficit down to 20 points for the remainder of the game. 
Freshman 
Nick Rosa (Coral Springs, Fla.) earned a start and had his finest game of the preseason, with 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting. He also added in five rebounds and three assists. 
Mike Chalas (Jr., Pembroke Pines, Fla.) scored nine points on 4-for-6 shooting and had three assists. Off the bench, 
Brandon Patchan (So., Tampa, Fla.) shot 3-for-4 and recorded seven points. 
Remi Farrell (So., Woodbridge, Conn.) scored six points and brought down four boards. 
NSU is now set for the regular season, beginning Friday at 4 p.m. against Johnson in the NSU Arena at the Don Taft University Center.
