Tennis Sweeps Again at Webber International

Sharks reach 10 wins at quickest rate since 2008.

RESULTS

BABSON PARK, Fla.
The Nova Southeastern tennis team (10-3) won its eighth straight match Sunday on the road against the Webber International Warriors (0-12), 9-0.

The win pushes the Sharks to 10 wins at their fastest rate since 2008. They have also tied their longest winning streak since then. NSU is only four wins away from reaching the program's longest winning streak. The victory marked the fourth sweep in the Sharks' last five matches, with the outlier coming at 8-1.

The sweep began with three wins in doubles play. Sabrina Kierberg (So., Berlin, Germany) and Alex Kaeser (Fr., Woodstock, Ga.) won their eighth straight top-flight match over Daniela Caruso and Nathalia Chaddad, 8-3. The Sharks were flawless at 8-0 in the other two matches. Alexandra Johansson (Jr., Sydney, Australia) and Iryna Serdyuk (So., Boca Raton, Fla.) were slotted in the second draw while sophomores Linda Kornienko (Fort Myers, Fla.) and Juliet Serabian (Plantation, Fla.) played in the third.

The Sharks were just as successful in singles play. Kierberg moved up to the ace slot and continued her undefeated mark, which now sits at 12-0. She defeated Caruso, 6-0, 6-2. Rizzolo moved from first to second and continued her strong play, defeating Chaddad, 6-3, 6-1. Serabian, Kornienko, Serdyuk and Bianca Roberts (Jr., Tampa, Fla.) all won their matches by the same perfect score, 6-0, 6-0.

NSU will return home Friday, March 21 to face Nebraska-Omaha at 3 p.m.
