Although the shots were not falling, NSU still crashed the boards and had seven first-half offensive rebounds. Second chance points helped NSU cut the deficit to five points at 22-17. However, the Fighting Knights would not let the game get away from them and entered the break ahead, 49-28.

The first half was one to forget for Sharks fans, with NSU shooting 8-for-26, with all but one field goal coming outside the arc. Lynn shot 19-for-33, drained seven 3-pointers and forced 14 NSU turnovers.

The Sharks showed heart in the second half and won the final 20 minutes by three points. The Sharks started the period on a 9-2 run and eventually cut the deficit down to nine points with 11:34 remaining. Lynn earned buckets on back-to-back possessions, but Page hit a big 3-pointer to cut the deficit to single digits for the final time.

An 11-3 run for Lynn reestablished the team's control of the game and the Fighting Knights were able to cruise to the finish. The Sharks would come within 12 points with 6:15 left, but could not threaten the home squad.

In the end, the Sharks shot 35.2 percent (19-for-54) from the floor and 45.5 percent from distance (10-for-22). Lynn shot 55.6 percent (30-for-54) from the floor and a blistering 58.8 percent (10-for-17) from deep. The game featured 43 turnovers, 22 of which came from the Sharks. The rebounding battle ended with a tie at 32 apiece.
