FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 15 Nova Southeastern University women's soccer team has their final road test of the regular season on Saturday, looking to get back into the winning column against Eckerd in St. Petersburg, Florida at 7 p.m.

The Sharks (11-3-0, 4-2-0 SSC) suffered their first defeat in over a month (and first shutout of the season), 2-0 to No. 7 Barry this past Wednesday night. The loss came after eight consecutive wins, with just two conference matchups to go towards determining the Sharks' seeding in the upcoming SSC Championship.

Barry (who has completed their conference schedule) holds a three-point advantage over second-place Tampa, 19-16. The Spartans have one more in-league match, this Saturday at Florida Tech. Two more matches are in the cards for the Sharks (in addition to Saturday, their Thursday makeup match hosting Saint Leo), currently tied for third with that same Florida Tech squad, as well as Rollins, with 12 points apiece.

Eckerd (4-8-2, 1-6-0 SSC) has gone 0-6-1 in their last seven matches, with the last win coming on Sept. 23, 2-1 over SSC opponent Florida Southern.  They are sitting ninth in the standings with three points, just behind a trio with six: FSC, Lynn and Saint Leo.

The Sharks still have many team milestones within reach. Their next goal would break the program record in a season, as they are presently tied with the 2007 team with 38 so far this year. The current tally of 11 wins is a record since joining the Sunshine State Conference, and should they post another victory this season, it would be the most since 2002 (13) and tie the '98 team for third-highest ever, with 12. Also, they are one away from the high-water mark for most SSC wins, five, reached twice (in 2007 and 2010).

All-time against the Tritons, the Sharks are 12-4-4, and as conference foes in regular season matchups, they are 11-0-2 (all told, they are undefeated against Eckerd spanning the last 15 matches). The last Eckerd regular season win came on Sept. 18, 2002, in St. Petersburg, 1-0.
