FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The tryouts for the Nova Southeastern University 2015-16 cheerleading team have been scheduled for September 9 from 6-9 p.m. in the NSU Arena in the Don Taft University Center.

Additionally, video tryouts can be submitted prior to the September 9 date. Tryouts are open to males and females.

Students who are interested in trying out must complete the following prior to tryouts:

• All paperwork for athletic training staff- CLICK HERE
  • Physical dated within the last 6 months
  • Release and Waiver Form
  • History Questionnaire

**If you will be a returning member you will only need to sign the release form located at the end of the History Questionnaire 

• Bring a current headshot
• Be accepted or currently enrolled/attending NSU
  • If you have applied but not heard back please contact Coach Lyming prior to tryouts

Tryouts – There are two ways you can tryout for the 2015-2016 squad.
Video Tryouts will be accepted until the last day of the live tryout date. Please include:

• Standing tumbling
• Running tumbling
• 3 Jumps
• 2 stunts in your position (base, top girl, etc)
• 2 letters of Recommendation
  • At least one from previous coach or boss preferred

The live tryout is scheduled for September 9 from 6pm-9pm in the NSU Arena at the Don Taft University Center.

The process will include:

• An ability to perform extended single leg stunts, specific to your position
• Combination of sideline cheer, dance, and tumbling skills presentation
• Males – an ability and desire to learn coed/partner stunts
• A brief interview with Coach Lyming
