INDIANAPOLIS – Two Nova Southeastern University student-athletes have been selected to participate in the prestigious NCAA Career in Sports Forum, June 2-5 at the governing body's national office.
 
Tennis junior Klaudia Boczova (Bratislova, Slovakia) and junior men's swimmer Victor Tarin (Godelleta, Spain) were nominated and selected by a national committee from a massive list of applicants. Only about 200 leaders on their campus were invited to participate.
 
According to the NCAA press release, the forum "provides college athletes with a broader scope of the career tracks available within the sports business, with the primary focus on college athletics. The forum provides student-athletes interactive experiences with successful individuals in the sports business and a peek into their day-to-day duties and responsibilities."
 
The speakers and panelists at this year's event include LaChina Robinson, former women's basketball player at Georgia Tech and current TV analyst; Stevie Baker-Watson, director of athletics at DePauw University; and Craig McPhail, vice president of athletics and club sports at Lees-McRae College.
 
Additionally, the participants also learn best practices for gaining employment and gathering a better understanding of what future expectations will be once they get a job in sports at the Next Steps Fair, hosted in the NCAA Hall of Champions.

"The opportunity for our student-athletes to take part in the NCAA Leadership Development program designed for them to pursue their professional goals after graduation is very special."
